Unfinished Projects writing prompts with special guest Suzanne Desrochers
November 25, 2017 @ 10 am at Artscape Youngplace 180 Shaw Street, Toronto

Suzanne Desrochers invites you to bring an unfinished project to share with the group at our next session on Nov 25th: writing, knitting, sewing, a photo project, etc. The writing prompts for this session will be based on the idea of unfinished work. Don’t worry if you can’t bring anything – you will still be able to write…

Suzanne’s thoughts about this session:

“I’m thinking about how our time as mothers is constrained in such a way that we can no longer “accomplish” all that we once did. It seems absurd that we would still measure ourselves by our pre-motherhood standards, which may have already been set too high. Let’s create a space where we can honour all the things we wish we could do, while letting go of all the things we don’t need or want to do. Maybe this will lead to a glimpse of clarity and a way through our ‘to do’ list that works with the current reality of our lives. Hopefully we will all experience a little cathartic boost and some reassurance that “finished ‘ is perhaps an overrated concept.”

Suzanne Desrochers is a writer, teacher and mother of three children, aged 1, 6 and 8. Bride of New France, her first novel, was a national bestseller. She is currently attempting to write a second novel during her toddler’s naptime. She has also written for NOW Magazine and the Globe and Mail. She occasionally makes a blog entry at: https://thismomshistory.wordpress.com
